Aside from perhaps a poor teaching sample, this did not make sense. I am a software engineer interested in AI and Machine Learning, and the solutions this woman sets forth do not make sense. "Who codes" doesn't matter - the programmer's aren't telling the computer how to recognize faces directly but rather to analyze images and compare them with past data.
If anything needs to be improved, it is that cameras need better contrast.
