In a sense; humans are dicks and will probably be destroyed by our own ignorance that causes our now sapient creations to kill us because we were too selfish to understand something that is not us.
We can even give our own species the same rights all across the board so i doubt we would allow something like a robot to have rights of some kind, at least not until its too late to regret it.
But who knows, the future could bring new enlightenment for our species as a whole and maybe and we could actually evolve intelligently and weed out the ignorance?
