UBI can be feasible with automation. For example lets say that automation takes completely care of food production. Unless there is a monopoly, which can be avoided if it's state regulated, food should become stupidly cheap as it would only need to pay for the few people managing the food farms. It could potentially be hundreds of times cheaper than it is now. The same would be true for all other areas where automation was possible.
In the end the cost of living would be much, much lower than it is today, which should be possible to cover with UBI. However luxury items such as games, would not get less expensive as that is mostly impossible to automatize. Games will become increasingly alluring as the technology increases, which would give incentive for people to work if they could.
