I do believe there is a confusion between virtual intelligence vs artificial intelligence and there is of course the argument of actual intelligence of even mechanical make up, but all property has rights and an owner including people. My country owns me and my taxes, a percentage of my work and has right to enforce law and rule me with common law.
So ultimately property law will need too evolve without the whole slavery affiliation. But that woud require some logical thinking at mass, this is where humanity becomes less intelligent......
