Alright so you should probably read a little bit about the issue before you talk about it. 1. The most salient model for the ubi relies on taxes from companies and corporations. These companies will be spending less (in many cases nothing) on employment. So the typical company spends are 31% of there capital on employment, in this model they would pay a lot of that to the government. Not all, they still retain the benefits of not having to spend money on human workers. Keep in mind humans work 40 hours a week at best for minimum wage and expect benefits. Robots work 24 hours a day 7 days a week, for the price of energy. Production is increased cost is decreased. The idea here is there are no jobs due to automation. 2. I say this with as little partisan inclination as possible: the data is clear humans don't just sit around and do nothing. In any circumstance. It depends on personality of course but the vast majority of people will fill their time with something. Not that it matters! In this model there is nothing required of people. Most if not all important things are automated. Look this is going to happen wether we like it or not (automation that is) you can't stop it. The ubi is a solution, its pretty much the only one out there. Fight it if you must, but this would all go a lot easier if we didn't make this about partisan politics or some nonsensical idea of puritan work ethic. I didn't listen to all of this but what little I did was cringe worthy. The conversation in this country sucks and we have a lot of hard decisions ahead, Please just do a little research and try this again.
