Robots wanting rights is not the question of 'pain'. Its the question of adding or evolving 'survival incstinct' to AI. He will not feel any pain when the toaster is dissassembled. He will be threatened and therefore will act against this threat, either by trying to proclaim rights.. or otherwise.
