They'll say it is to save lives. When in reality it is for the unadulterated, wanton slaughter of human beings with no chance of the weapon not being used due to a soldier deciding they don't think killing a certain target is in their moral interest and the fact that machines don't get PTSD or other psychological stress related disabilities from being in combat. Costs for physically disabled combat troops will become much less of a burden due to the fact that if a drone has a weapon hardpoint blown off it just gets another one bolted in place. They don't have to give it medical attention nor find it a prosthetic limb later.. It's a disgusting path being taken. The machines will be used just as a lawn mower is used to cut grass, except it will be humans that are getting mowed down en mass! Last but not least, accountability will vaporize with autonomous weapons platforms. The pukes at the Pentagon will try to pass off accountability to their new fangled toys. No one will face even the slightest chance of being held accountable for unspeakable acts of mechanical genocide.
