I think the ethical choice is to develop robots with an intentionality towards their broader social implications. You should be developing the robots while training inner city students to be robot engineers. We have a huge problem now that social development is not keeping pace with technological development. This problem could be solved with more determined planning- and frankly, if we just cared a little more about our fellow man!
