Probably robot pets will have a dramatic effect on some people having real pets with not having to feed or clean up, also having many applications. Of course there will be advantages for people not currently allowed to have pets in particular as robot pets could be programmed to assist humans in many ways. Of human robots I am sure the bad side of some people will be exposed more which may reduce abuse to other humans and animals.
