I'm so glad this topic was brought up because I've been thinking about this for a while... when real AI is invented, will they require legal rights? Will owning one mean they are slaves? Will they be able to choose to follow orders or not? If someone tries to marry a robot will it be legalized? Will there be an AI rights movement? This topic is just so interesting to me.
Imagine a robot commits a crime like an assault... will they be charged for committing a crime or will the owner of the robot just shut it down before it becomes too hostile? Will shutting it down be committing murder? Who decides the rights for AI, humans or other AI?
I'm so excited, I really hope AI is invented in my lifetime so I can see some of this go down...
