I'd be alright with robots being equal to humans. Why? Imagine how fun it would be to converse with a conscious being that isn't a human! That would be so awesome! We wouldn't need to find aliens anymore, we could make our own AI's! But we should probably program them with some restrictions just so they don't go all 2001 on us.
