Reddit is highly astroturfed by state-sponsored or financially influential bots with political agendas. Their objective is to go viral with political memes or trends, in this case deep fakes of Netanyahu up so something "insidious" with the new chatgpt, other bots are deployed to upvote the posts so the algorithm puts it on your main feed, them normal/basic Reddit users, under the illusion that the same political leaning posts will gain them karma, repost their own memes of political propaganda, thinking they are early influencers or meme hype beasts. Classic case of chronically online social media consumers being manipulated by a bot-led circle jerk. The phone/laptop photos of political memes is just the latest campaign targetting the lowest-hanging fruit on the scapegoat tree.
