Would it be useful to you to think that the Internet and AI are not the first big changes that humanity faced? Maybe some tribes hundred of thousands years ago didn't want the fire, because they have lived without it before, because it can burn houses kill people (and it has been used exactly for this). But the other tribes around that took the fire ended having the superior hand. There is even the tragic story of Prometheus that was a sort a warning after fact. Some people even objected to the printing press, arguing that people would stop remembering things and instead rely on books, or that books would be used to spread false news (and it happened) if anyone can print anything. I don't think we have any choice about making it happen or stopping AI, but we can act or vote for people educated on the subject and willing to help. And educate ourseleves to face the problems arising. Tragedies lie in the future, but it has always been this way. We have to try and make the best of what we have, for ourselves, for the people we love, for humanity. Godspeed.
