I think I agree. I know that in professional relationships, 'highest truth' is rarely the goal. 'Best fitness' in relationships is always better. If anyone has seen the US' 'The Office', Dwight is the perfect example of a person who only values 'highest truth' and does not value not 'best fitness'. I might ask a colleague or a client how they are*.* I don't ask them out of a genuine or well-founded fear of how they are. I ask it because it's polite and it shows I'm interested - even if I'm not particularly interested in that particular person. It's dishonest in the same way that ChatGPT telling me my questions on cooking stew are 'great'. It's so interesting watching the trends in AI/human communication. I think that a lot of the valid issues raised in OPs post may have been solved by primary / high school teachers. Pedagogy probably has a lot to teach us about how people like to interact when learning. I'd *suspect* it would support flattering comments, even if they aren't objectively true. I remember a lot of teachers in school telling me my questions were great...
