I think people who have the time and mental bandwidth should dedicate themselves to making an open source and transparent project together that will help. While operating systems may be required by law to make age verification available to apps, that doesn't mean an app can't be coded that does nothing bad with that information, or an app that could be only available to users over 18 yet only contains SFW content, and actually makes privacy better instead of worse. I consider both the legislature as well as the AI face scanning being rolled out in mainstream apps as a "red line" or "last straw" between an internet that was going to be okay, with problems but workarounds, and an internet that is not going to be okay unless people get involved to fix the problems with it. I am available to discuss potential project ideas that could help accomplish that, and I currently have enough free time to help. I think something that is free and open source and decentralized is going to work, and I have experience making decentralized networks before. If anyone wants to discuss a project idea that they have or wants me to help them with it, don't hesitate to reach out, I don't mind informal grammar either.
