No SE with 15 years of experience is bedazzled by AI. Everyone I know who is a competent engineer sees it as an occasionally cool tool and a way to get strategy to greenlight our projects. I am currently using AI hype to finally get buy in to fix up some nasty tech debt that my PO would never let my team touch even though it has crashed prod systems on more than one occasion.
