The problem is that companies will run things into the ground chasing profits, limiting labor is profitable, when the company finally folds under the weight of terrible software, they will move on. I don’t think most people are arguing that AI codes better than humans, the argument is that the people employing the good coding humans will chose ai over humans. We have seen major companies recently have huge issues due to ai, sure some of them are re hiring, but others aren’t and most of them had mass layoffs offs in favor of AI they knew hallucinated etc. Humans are better at the job, but they are expensive, even AI CEO’s know and openly say AI will kill most jobs, anything that is computer based will be first to go. Some companies will have integrity and remain fully staffed, but that won’t put us back to the job numbers available before mass layoffs started in the last few years.
