IMHO AI will and already does take jobs, especially programming jobs where it’s more advanced than for other jobs. But there still are things it can’t do. As the technology continues to improve, the skills needed will be less and less about actual programming, but about all the things around it. How to deploy a website, how to set up a server, how to provision hardware, how to do release strategies, how to organise, how to architecture, etc. - and that comes with to Problems for pure vibe coders. 1. AI can help with all of those things too, but for the most part, it can’t actually *do* them yet. Maybe with an MCP, but that needs to be set up as well. 2. The vibe coders don’t even get that far, where the AI could/would help them. As for pure coding. I believe the errors the current model makes, the next one can fix. So writing buggy/unmaintainable code isn’t actually as much of an issue as some people claim.
