I’m a consultant and vibe coding works great for me… because it’s not my job to program anything important.
AI has helped me to vibe-code tools and automate standard processes because programming was a hobby of mine pre-AI and I understand the basics of VB, Python, and R.
BUT these were all “nice to have” products that are fairly simple to put together. Just common sense stuff. Anything important was deployed as a prototype and refined by actual software engineers.
It’s my position that if you’re responsible for any vital codebase for a professional organization, you should be an expert in programming and not reliant on AI.
