> we're scared it's going to replace us but nobody wants to say that part out loud. I've actually heard this sentiment quite a bit, so a lot of people aren't afraid to say it. At work I am really only utilizing AI to appease the higher ups, but there have been circumstances where it has saved me hours. There are also circumstances where it impacted my judgement or thought processes and lead me down the wrong path, which costed me hours. I guess I have always had an interest in AI, not necessarily using AI to do my coding,, but just the technology in general. Running local modals for inferencing, video and image generation, training models, creating agents and agentic workflows, and integrating AI into services and just understanding how they work at a rudimentary level has been interesting to me.
