Done. Canceled my subscriptions, deleted conversations, deleted my account. I always liked ChatGPT and mostly trusted it in a wink-wink-nudge-nudge kind of way. But this is a bridge too far. It's going to be a game of whack-a-mole with AI heading forward. I canceled to send a message, hopefully along with a lot of other users. I'm sure they won't care with their huge government contract, but at least I will sleep better at night. Switching to Claude because they stood up to this regime. When Claude bends the knee, I'll cancel too. But until then, they have my support. It's up to them to decide what they value most. I'll decide where I spend my money in the meantime.
