This is actually the point of contention. Palantir contracts with the government and anthropic essentially connecting the two (from what I understand) when Anthropic saw this they asked, “were we involved in this?” And stated they don’t want to be. That’s when the administration went ape shit and tried to threaten Anthropic. Open AI seeing a way to make money raised their hand and said, “we’ll do it: pay us.”
