I actually got an offer last year from IBM. Took my contract offer instead because not only did they bait and switch the role I was offered, it was a sales engineer role that was actually a customer success/account exec role, but their benefits SUCK. They don’t give you any PTO/sick time and don’t even have a 401k match in the beginning.
They and a lot of other companies are shuffling out the senior folks to get in more new people who can use AI for a cheaper price. They don’t care whatsoever.
