Yeah this is the part that doesn't get enough attention. The AI narrative gives companies perfect cover. Nobody questions layoffs anymore if you say "AI efficiency" in the press release. But when you look at what IBM actually did - cut senior salaries and backfill with juniors at a fraction of the cost - that's not an AI strategy. That's a labor arbitrage play with better PR. The AI part is just the excuse that makes Wall Street clap.
