Yep, the government is allowing these companies to raid our privacy and then paying those companies for the data that they scoop up. All reliant on the abomination of Third Party Doctrine, which is a Supreme Court precedent that says that anything you willingly give to a third party automatically makes that information public domain as far as the government itself is concerned. It's absolutely ludicrous, and our rights are now being sold and resold under that ridiculous presumption.
