It wouldn’t have to be handwritten. Most colleges already have testing centers with full computer labs, they just need to be machines that are unable to pull up any AI software. I think this is where things are going to have to go. I had to take tests for my professional license and they were always at third party testing centers and you couldn’t look anything else up on the computers you were on, and this was more than 20 years ago. Of course, this only works for timed assignments, not for things like writing papers where you have several weeks or more to work on them. But at this point, something has to be done. There IS a place for AI in learning, but it’s not when you are asked to give your own voice to something.
