Honestly, I'd like to count myself as one of those paying attention, but I can't see how that benefits me at the moment. So I'm wondering whether I'm not paying enough attention, whether I'm underestimating the benefits I'm experiencin, or whether I'd need to pay more than just attention.
I think I was closer than most people to buying Bitcoin when it was worthless, but not close enough to actually do it. I was an economics student, found the topic interesting for as long as my attention span lasted, and then moved on with my life because it didn't even cross my mind to invest in anything. All I invested in at the time was a shitton of booze every other night. I was a clueless self-destructive university student, but in retrospect, just by reading an article or two on Bitcoin, I was closer to the opportunity of being a millionaire now than 90% of people.
Now I'm following this subreddit, use different AI models for small tasks, wonder whether AI will be the end of humanity,...and don't really act much on it. I bought 100€ of Alphabet stocks a few days before Gemini 3.0 was released, and I generated some videos with my grandparents to teach them not to believe things anymore just because they look real. Aside from that, I essentially use AI as a proofreader.
Do you guys have any advice on how to prevent looking back at 2025 in ten years, thinking "if I only took this little decision, I'd be so much better off now"?
