You just have to understand how you're using the tool. Realize that LLMs are not a database. It doesn't have a massive pull table of information. If you're asking it about very specific details about something that isn't common knowledge it has a high chance of hallucinating. If you want to study something specific and get real information you have to weight the chat session with real info. The option to upload PDFs and files is there for a reason. You're giving the model reliable information to work with. Most people just assume the model inherently knows all the knowledge ever created.
