What I don't understand is the logic behind the AI race between the US and China. Why are we racing to build an AGI that we don't even know how to control or align? Maybe it's not even possible to align or control it, and it is very unlikely we will figure it out if we are racing this fast. If the AGI and later ASI is not aligned it won't matter if the US or China built it first cause we are all gonna be doomed. Everybody loses.
