Before 2023, you have 3D artists that are good with hand drawing and those aren't. The former got good pay with better job security than the latter. However, when AI generated content becomes a big deal, the gap between them lessens. Hand drawing or concept design can be supercharged with AI and you don't need to have talent like before.
So the job security aspect is lost, the pay is a race for who catches up with AI better. That's what I heard from a 3D artist friend who was in the no-drawing-skill group.
