AI"s problem is the insane start up costs to train a model, followed by the insane upkeep costs to keep it running. once a model is trained often times it needs to be retrained. by the time you get to a viable product, 3 generations of new hardware has come out and your entire infrastructure is obsolete. meanwhile some new company starts up with the new hardware and closes the gap before you can even cut a po to upgrade. i think ai dev will continue, but it will be a long time before it massively replaces jobs we haven't already out sourced to cheaper countries. its mostly call centers that will get hit first .
