I think we’re still a little early to tell where exactly AI is going to go and how far it’ll go. Taking a step back and looking at where it was even just a year or two ago, we are monumentally further along than where it used to be. Will there be another “break through” that causes some sort of exponential impact? Maybe. Will all of this hype fizzle out and we’ll revert back to the “norm” with AI being a new tool in the arsenal? Maybe. One thing is certain, companies jumped way too fast on the back wagon of worker replacement. We’re not there yet imo and we have a long way to go until we get to that point (hopefully we never do). We’re not anywhere near the point of AI replacing engineers, let’s be real. The more imminent threat is outsourcing, but that’s a whole other can of worms.
