Tech lead here. The implication is that AI is a productivity tool. My company expects ppl to use it to boost productivity by 30%. Those who can't raise productivity by 30% are PIPed. We are are starting to see how juniors/new hires use AI to design and code when interviewing because seniors are tired of bad MR full of bad AI solutions. Because of productivity gains, we are hiring less and replacing those we PIP, whom cant use AI tools.
