I’ve seen something similar at my company too, and it’s definitely eye-opening. The key takeaway for me is that while AI is great at automating repetitive tasks, it still lacks the creativity, problem-solving, and deep understanding that humans bring to more complex challenges. As software engineers, our roles will evolve, but we’ll still be needed to manage, innovate, and work on higher-level design. The way I’m adapting is by focusing more on areas like system architecture, working on more complex features, and improving soft skills like leadership and communication. These are areas AI can’t easily replace.
