Those are not a contradiction, knowledge and pattern recognition are not the same thing as cognition. One correction, the people who think it can write better code than human software engineers are incorrect. I know because I ask it to write code constantly. It cures the blank page problem to start you off though! If 70% correct is enough for your industry, this may be a problem for you but for software engineering 70% correct is worse than nothing until an actual coder gets their hands on it. Your product could cost you thousands in cloud bills within the first week, get you hacked, or even land you in jail lol In other words, software engineers will call it glorified autocorrect, and graphic designers call it an existential threat, and both are correct. A good graphic designer might give you a logo that tells a story and works a bit better at grabbing attention or conveying values of a company and whatnot, but most companies just have logos that are "good enough" anyway so 70% of the way there is a real problem for someone who makes logos for a living. Also, not all AI is LLM, and not all LLMs are designed the same way or for the same purpose.
