The difference is that a human, at the end of the day, still has to butt heads with reality. Whether due to personality or psychological or whatever disorders, their interface with reality may not result in being directed to truth, but it will, nonetheless, have an impact. LLMs do not have to contend with reality, they only have to deal in the imaginations of every creator that they have consumed. This means that there is no mechanism to push back other than people, and if a person is disinclined to push back, then there's nothing to stop a recursive delusion.
