It’s not just office jobs. I work as an electrician on big budget film & tv sets. I work physically with my hands all day and am a tradesman. As are my highly skilled coworkers in the set decoration, paint, construction, costuming, camera, hair, makeup, wardrobe, sound, etc departments. We don’t work much anymore. The last big movie I worked on comes out the 27th of this month. Here in the US there’s a multitude of factors in that, AI is very much one of the reasons. And worldwide tv/film production is down overall. For every online AI made video that you come across it’s being more and more normalized as people get used to seeing AI made video. There are “AI filmmakers” (I call them hacks that require other people’s work to make anything) and film festivals dedicated exclusively to AI generated “films”. There are millions of us out here also on the cusp of losing our livelihoods
