I work as a dev and have been thoroughly unimpressed by AI, although I think the easiest part of coding is the actual coding portion, so I don't think it has helped much in that regard. As a rubber duck its been alright. I'm just not sure it can handle the kind of complexity required for implementing business logic on an enterprise sized application filled with crappy code from years of contractors lol. At least thats my takeaway from the experiments with Cline and Copilot I have been doing. I guess it will happen eventually, but at my workplace I feel safe for the immediate future, which all these headlines seem to suggest I shouldn't.
