I'm going to try my hardest not to be judgemental, since as a parent of a three year old myself, I completely understand the need to get shit done or take a break. Whatever you're letting your child do, be it letting them play, watch TV, run around the backyard, there is no reason that you can't go check in on your child, literally a cursory glance and "are you okay?", and ensure what they're doing is healthy and safe, and they're okay. Two hours with a phone is a long time unsupervised, especially given he's being left with a nascent technology that has no studies or controls in place for children.. This probably wasn't the right call in this case. Shit gets tough and sometimes you just want to check the fuck out and get stuff done, I get it, but please understand the risks that underlie leaving your kiddo with something like chatgpt.
