I think it’s partially true. It’s unfair to conclude this statement based on current gen AI like these early LLMs. With the current state of AI right now, obviously it’s not replacing software engineers. But you have to remember, chatGPT was launched only 3 years ago. Looking out 10 years from now, if innovation continues (which it will, it’s just the nature of humans and technology) then it’s totally plausible that it is going to start replacing software engineers. But really at the end of the day who knows? It’s just as wrong right now to say that it wont replace software engineers as it is to say that it will. Let’s see what the future holds
