It's a new tool. There's no proper analogy for it because there's never been anything like this new tool in humanity before. It's like the invention of flight. It's an amazing technology but does it replace the need for cars? The need for boats? The need for getting up and walking to the toilet? No, flight is its own thing and it created and carved out its own use cases. LLMs are good at what it does and bad at what it can't do. What is it specifically good and bad at? It's hard to say because the technology is so new. I can say it's bad at doing anything complex and working in legacy code. LLMs are good at guessing at acronyms, like if you're in a meeting and someone uses an acronym you don't know. In other words, you're using the technology wrong... and right at the same time. You won't know the boundaries of LLMs until you use it.
