It can be helpful, but not in the "do my work for me" way, but in the "automating your keyboard". Try an AI IDE like Cursor, open a large project and you can ask it to make changes, add logic and it will traverse files, find needed context and create diff style changes for you to review. Still, you need to tell it "make function X do A instead of B by utilizing Y" and not "make the UI pop more". Everybody who claims it can create whole **production** ready apps has something to sell you or they are writing a Todo list app.
