I’m not a senior dev by any means, I’m a junior SWE/CS student. In my experience Copilot throws random, overly complicated solutions at bugs with basic fixes. Still, it helps me with plenty of code in other cases (granted I have to check every output). I tried “vibe coding” with Cursor a fairly complex niche program with very strict non-functional requirements and it just didn’t work at all: it felt like it tried spitting out random solutions instead of thinking of one.
