I don't think Russia will do anything within a decade to NATO. There will be no hot war. Just some hibrid attacks, maybe sabotage. What I am concerned about is Kazakhstan. The current president Kazakh president show middle finger to Russia on several occasions. He spoke to Putin in Kazakh (he speaks perfect Russian), allowed pro Ukraine protests (despite banning all other protests in the country), in Jan 2022 after Russia helped to pacify the protest, he threw them away faster than expected, they sold parts of jets to Ukraine (indirectly) and so on. The first Russian president Yeltsin stated that Russia must revisit the following borders.: Georgian, Ukrainian Donbas and Crimea and northern Kazakh. So my guess would be that after the war in Ukraine, we will see an Russian invasion in Kazakhstan. Probably they will take the entire north and cut off the sea access and oil production, making Kazakhstan a 4th world country.
