There's a VERY VERY big chance that these layoffs have absolutely nothing to do with A.I. and more to do with the Tech industry still bleeding since covid and attempting to reduce cost. Tech companies left and right are laying off people. A.I. replacing humans is still years away except for a few industries like first-level support or writing text, which is basically the only thing A.I. is really good at.
