I think the Associated Press screwed the pooch with the headline and burying a KEY piece of information deep in the story.
This artist Ai Weiwei became famous for destroying art and artifacts himself.
The man who smashed the sculpture should have had some high minded statement about protesting the power and kookiness of art culture and the tastemakers that live in that world.
It's all so capricious and stupid to me. Yet I love art and artists. I just wish it was a more democratic and fair system that spread the wealth wider to all artists.
