Its been shown in human research that when we dont trust our information sources we have higher fear levels, we still make decisions but they are more emotional due to lack of trusted information, and more right wing due to fear.
So our wonderful internet of information and knowledge is possibly driving us to think and vote right wing. Not good...thats world wide
