Thank you for posting this. I hope we as a society put actual effort into solving the problems you’re talking about or we are truly and irrevocably fucked. The winner take all mentality of capitalism is a cancer of the human heart. I am not so much afraid of AI as I am afraid of the society in which AI is being birthed. We are not ready for it. We don’t have the empathy on a worldwide scale that these challenges are going to require. Our entire society, speaking as an American, is based on individuals doing everything for themselves, and in constant competition with everyone else. But we just found there something that we can’t compete against. And we are not used to that as a species. So we have to change everything. It’s not gonna happen fast enough. People will suffer. That is inevitable. But I am very much in favor of figuring out the systems that we need to put in place to minimize that human suffering as much as we can.
