Phhht it's much darker than that. Using aggregate data analysis software like Palantir to manufacture consensus using AI generated propaganda campaigns that utilize dark patterns in a way where, we don't even realize we are being manipulated. In concept this is something that the US government has been aware of for awhile and even experimented with as far back as 2010 when it hired a PR company that sought out the services of Palantir to manufacture something similar against Wikileaks after they scuppered the Iraq war by leaking videos of the Apaches slaughtering that journalist.
