A lot of people think that if a stochastic parrot gets good enough at parroting, it will somehow transform into a general superintelligence and launch the nuclear missiles.
It's the flip-side of the overhyped super-caffeinated marketing OpenAI is pumping out, to make people *very excited* about the their *oh so amazing* service. The buzz is great for their business, but also fuels this kind of hyperbolic panic.
This too shall pass.
